Recovery kit
Your blocks shouldn't depend on us. Everything needed to rebuild a password from any 3 of its blocks is here, free and public domain, so it works even if pass.new no longer exists.

Keep a copy with your blocks, or give one to each person holding a block. Everything runs on your own device and never contacts the internet.

How to get a password back
- Collect any 3 blocks from the same set. The Set ID on each block must match.
- Use whichever is easiest: pass.new/split (scan the QR codes or type the blocks), the offline recovery page, recover.py, or the AI prompt.
- Type blocks exactly as printed. Capitals, spaces and dashes don't matter, and O/0 and I/L/1 are treated the same.
The result is checked against a fingerprint inside the blocks, so it's always either exactly right or an error, never a slightly wrong password.
The AI prompt
Copy this into any AI assistant that can run Python, add your 3 blocks at the end, and it will rebuild the password.
Before you use an AI: anything you paste into an online AI can be seen by the company that runs it. For a Bitcoin key or anything valuable, use the offline options first, and move the funds or change the password afterwards.
