About pass.new
Simple, free tools to make, share and protect passwords, built so that we never see them.
What pass.new is
pass.new started as the quickest way to get a strong new password: open the page and there it is. It has grown into a small set of free tools for everything that comes after: sending a password securely, checking if one has leaked, splitting one into printed blocks, time-locking a message, a dead man's switch, canary tokens and a free API.
Private by design
Everything sensitive happens in your own browser. Passwords are generated on your device, and anything you share is encrypted before it reaches us, so we only ever hold scrambled data we can't read. There's no account, no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking cookies. The privacy policy explains exactly what we keep.
Open and checkable
The tools use standard, well-known methods: your browser's built-in secure random generator, AES-256 encryption, and Shamir's method for splitting. The recovery kit is public domain and on GitHub, so you can always get a split password back, even without us.
Who runs it
pass.new is made by Mark in Wales, UK, and run by HSPINK & COMPANY - FZCO, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
